The USB - RS232 4 Wire IoT Module allows the user to add additional high-speed RS232 serial devices to the mangOH™ development board. Based around a highly integrated FTDI chipset, standard and non-standard baud rates from 183 baud up to 3Mbaud are available. Separate TX and RX LEDs provide a visual indication of transmit and receive data as an aide to debugging data communications.
The USB - RS485 2 Wire IoT Module enables the mangOH™ development board to connect to devices and networks that use the half duplex RS485 serial bus protocol to communicate. Based around a highly integrated FTDI chipset, standard and non-standard baud rates from 183 baud up to 3Mbaud are available. Separate TX and RX LEDs provide a visual indication of transmit and receive data as an aide to debugging data communications.
For ease of use, the driver direction switching is managed in hardware, and the USB device simply maps to a standard /dev/ttyUSBx device in the operating system. A 120R network termination resistor can be enabled or disabled by inserting or removing an on-board Jumper - thus allowing the module to be placed either at the end or in the middle of a RS485 network.
The Interface IoT card enables the developer to access some of the I/O interfaces of the mangOH™ development board without having to design a custom card.
The I2C, SPI, GPIO and UART interfaces on the mangOH™ IoT slot connector are brought out to the ‘outside world’ on a 20pin 0.1" pitch connector via isolation and level shifting circuitry. Devices connected to the ‘outside’ can be powered from either the mangOH™ supplied 3V3 or 5V supplies, or externally via 2V8 to 5V0 supplies on the 20pin connector.
All I/O is disabled by default and each interface can be separately enabled using the on-board jumpers. Additionally, a header block is provided with standard I2C pullups for 3V3 or 5V operation.
Aimed at IoT Card developers, the 1 Slot IoT Bus Extender card is designed to extend a 1 Slot IoT card out past the edge of the mangOH™ PCB so that the developer can access components on the rear of their card. Additionally, each connection between the mangOH™ edge connector and IoT Socket is brought out to a 2mm pin header so that the developer can monitor electrical activity on the connection using their test equipment.
